How to patch an inner tube – glueless

Any good bike mechanic will tell you to replace a tube, and not to bother with patches. I end up using patches a lot anyway, since I never have an inner tube around when I get a flat. So, fuck it, here’s a patching video.
If you want glueless patches, these ones work great

In the US the green ones are called "skins" and they are crap. Use the rubber patches with the rubber cement. I bought a $200 dollar bike for $20 dollars because the kid said the tires kept "popping". I found two "skins" that didn't hold at all, replaced them with rubber patches and voila ! don't buy the crappy stick on paper thin skins !
I never leave without my patch kit. Here in Barbados a tube can range between $9 -$10 for shrader to $16.95 for presta …
Tubes in the uk are like £2.50 and I can change them hella quick
the glueless one doesn't work, it's a waste of money, the glue on patches work amazing though, I've used them all my life.
cant you Just put tube less tyre sealant inside the inner tube?
Buy slime tire sealant for 6 bucks at walmart
4 oz of slime on each tube
And you dont have to worry about patching anymore.
When you get a puncture the slime seals it automatically
Yeah I patch. At home with the more pump and permanant glue type. On the trail with glueless & co2. I also own one spare tube. This is as most times I find a flat is when I go to take my bike for a ride, so i just swap tubes with the spare, get out for my ride quickly then later, when I decide, repair the punctured one with a proper glue patch and it will become the new/future "replacement tube". Best of both worlds.
here it costs £5 to get a new tube and have them replace it for you and pump it up 😂
In my country, inner tubes close $10…
I get alot of flats…
Tubes here cost $8 canadian 10 patches cost $2…
You do the math
Lol 4 bucks lucky every shop here sells "regular" tubes for 7 bucks
My back tube has 5 patches and it works just fine
I'm committed to patching. I've saved… $16 over the past…. year. lol
Patch them all day, al night… I can`t spend 10 BGN every day or 2 days for new tube. I will just get patches and glue for 2 BGN whith which i can patch 30 inner tubes or so. I am useing Red Sun glue and patches. Sometimes when i don`t have glue and patches i use duct tape and simetimes it works :D
An inner tube for $4?? So lucky man the bike shop I go to sells for 14 but they put it in for me
I always patch, but lately these new patches don't stick. I'm trying to find some old patches. Those green circles are a rip off and the dollar store brand too.
What if I have those tubes width the blue sealant crap? The patches never stick for me
well, I had a flat about a week ago ( far from home ) , & put, not one but two of those Slime skab patches on my tube ,barely pumped the tube up & still heard a Small hiss ( air Leakage ) ,pissed me off ( after taking the tube out 2 times ), I said fuck it & just put my spare tube in & went on my way , now I have a flat on my backtire ( slow Leak – don't know how or why ) , gonna try to patch it ( again ) in the morning , hopefully the patches work this time
That's how I got told to repair a tyre by my dad. I should go back to patching tyres
Just use some 'GLUE ON' PATCHES, those won't need to be replaced, EVER.
Can you plz do a vid on (tubeless 29er) mtb. I would love to see how to seal it up and insert slime/tire sealant into the tires. Ive discovered that my tire keeps deflating and i need to know how to remove the tire using tire leavers and taping the rim. This would be greatly appreciated. Good videos man thumbs up
I buy a new tube each time there's this shop where I live that sells them for €1.40 they do the job definitely
Sort of a tangent but I've noticed that your tires are all cuesta valves as opposed to Schrader. Obviously there is a reason? (coming back to riding after basically a 30 year break.)
I like them , the only problem is aiming the stipid hole, most times i miss
what brand are those awesome pants at 3:31 ?
Mate both my tires have atleast 5 patches each
Dude! Don't use levers to put the tire back on! unless you have more patches to fix the pinch flats you just made.
my friend has like 6 or 7 patches on his back inner tube….and it's fine….as long as you use the ones that require wulcanising solution and you apply them correctly ,they should basically become part of the tube and stay there forever.
do you ever use slime tube tires they don't really get flats till about 2 years from my experience
i see you still ride 26
well i patch them too all the time at the moment I have 9patches at my tube;)
cool
