I used to laugh at the noisy bike videos. now that my baby has developed a creak in the bb I want to cut all my spokes with bolt cutters and saw my frame in half before giving up cycling altogether.
Do you have a video for removing the crankset for an older style bike when the pedal is twisted into the crankset? In short a bike that doesn't have the botls holding the pedal to the crankset.
Thanks. I regreased and reinstalled the pedals on the cranks and Oiled the pedal spindles. The clicking stopped.
I have a really bad grinding noise on the last 4 sprockets when on the big chain ring. Mostly under load but after testing it, I can actually replicate it by hand when the bike is in the TurboTrainer. I cannot see anything wrong but the chain does look rather, err, busy and jittery, which may explain it but what do I do about this?
Any ideas are welcome, I want to do the 180km Zwift challenge at the weekend!! HEEELP!!!

I don't want to be a downer on this very good video but I do have one issue with warranties they are usually worthless.Unless it is some thing major like the frame snapping. Anything mechanical such as indexing fail or bottom braket failing after a short time is usually dismissed as ware and tare by the makers making the warranty basically useless. I have hear the same excuse of bottom bracket fails from two different bike mechanics which is "sand and grit getting into the supposed sealed bottom bracket unit and wearing it out prematurely". Sadly I have learnt that bicycles today and made to fail regularly to keep you spending money on them. A sad fact to be sure. Brilliant video as usual guys thanks.

While I watch the video and appreciated, I don't want to learn at this point. Just bought less than a month a Focos cayo ultegra and I'm in my 6 visit to the shop cause creaking sounds.
They already change the bracket saying is broke. Ride it again and sounds still there.
Tomorrow back to the shop.
Sad part of the story is that I want a cervelo and seller was very pushy about getting a focus cause have ultegra and other gimmicks.

If you know that a thread locker has been used, applying a soldering iron to the bolt it will soften the thread locker enough to allow easier removal.
Could also be spokes especially when you get off the seat and putting some flex on the wheels . Really it can be every thing !!!!!!
PLESE HELP!!! when i pedal with more force (up the hill) then you can hear loud bang and feel like something poping or like chain crackd… but gear is still the same…. i have deore xt, shimano. old bike
Thanks for this – just replaced my BB bearings and was dismayed to have a creaking noise that made me worry i'd not fitted them properly. But sure enough it was the chainring bolts that i'd had to remove to get the drive side bearing off and not tightened enough
….. phew!
Bike maintenance is so fucking annoying! In my next life I become a pro, then I don`t have to do this anymore…
I've found the best way to eliminate creaking is by playing music out of my phone. Also keeps the bears away.

have a pretty new Raleigh Redux 1 2016..it creeks and pops like mad..i can totally feel it in the crank/bottom bracket area..IM going to try my best to tighten up some stuff. Its so bad im scared something is going to break off while im peddling..

The cleats, it was the cleats that were causing the clicking noise, it was driving me crazy, I thought there was a major problem with the pedal. But I put lub on the cleat and it silenced the click, thank you GCN.
